How to Add Google AdSense to Your
Blog’s Sidebar (Blogger)
Step 1: Configure Your AdSense Ad
- Log in to your
Google AdSense account.
- Click the Ads
tab and choose a suitable ad layout. Sidebar-friendly formats include:
- Button
(125x125)
- Skyscraper
(120x600)
- Wide
Skyscraper (160x600)
- Vertical
Banner (120x240)
- Small
Rectangle (180x150)
- Customize the
ad with a preferred color palette and copy the AdSense code provided.
Step 2: Add AdSense Code to Blogger
- Log in to Blogger
and select the blog you wish to edit.
- Go to the Template
tab (or Layout tab if using a more recent Blogger template).
- (Precaution): Before making
any changes, copy your entire template and save it in Notepad or a text
editor for backup.
- Locate the
following in your HTML template:

- Paste your
AdSense code right after this section.
- Save your
template and republish your blog.
How to Add Google Affiliate Network
Links to Your Blog’s Sidebar
Note: The Google Affiliate Network has been discontinued. You can apply
similar steps to add affiliate links from other networks like Amazon
Associates, ShareASale, or CJ Affiliate.
Step 1: Get Your Affiliate Link
- Sign in to your
affiliate network account.
- Choose the
advertiser and the link type (e.g., text link or image banner).
- Select
dimensions that fit your sidebar:
- Button
(125x125)
- Skyscraper
(120x600)
- Wide
Skyscraper (160x600)
- Vertical
Banner (120x240)
- Small
Rectangle (180x150)
- Copy the
affiliate link HTML code provided.
Step 2: Add Affiliate Link to Blogger
- Log in to
Blogger and select your blog.
- Go to the Template
tab (or Layout tab for newer templates).
- Backup your
template by copying it to a text editor.
- Locate the
sidebar section in your template:
